Vidya Again With Emraan

Emraan Hashmi was never known for his broody performances onscreen and Vidya Balan wasn't exactly the typical Bollywood drama queen.

Apart from The Dirty Picture producer Ekta Kapoor, Rajkumar Gupta, the director of No One Killed Jessica is also keen to sign up Vidya to play the lead in his movie Ghanchakkar opposite Emraan.
Emraan, surprisingly was not too comfortable with the idea of sharing screen space with Vidya initially. But, then he relented to play the role of Ibraham in the film, which obviously has turned his fortunes.
Emraan had recently said that he would like to take up more roles in family oriented movies as he doesn't want his son to ask him 'weird questions'. But, he might just want to revert that decision after The Dirty Picture's success. All we can hope for is that the duo is able to repeat their onscreen magic with their upcoming projects - if they sign them, that is.

MADHURI-DIXIT In Sooraj Film

Post her return from USA, Machuri Dixit has been sending feelers to producers asking for meaty

roles.  One producer that she's most keen on working with is Sooraj Barjatya, who gave her the

biggest hit ofher career in Hum Aapke Hain Kaun. She wants to reunite with Sooraj and do another

family drama.  Madhuri's also excited with reports that the Barjatyas have locked in Salman for their

next film and  has been making discreet enquiries about the subject of the film. She plans to pay him a

courtesy visit  in the coming weeks. Maybe there will be a HAHK 2 in the making?

ANUSHKA- The Queen

Anushka's dream run in K-Town seems have ensured the actress chooses Tamil films over her Telugu

ones.

The actress, who just completed her schedule for the Suraaj's untitled flick for Karthi and has many

others lined up in her kitty, has reportedly turned down a big film opposite Venkatesh. Produced by

Dil  Raju, Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu will see Mahesh Babu and Venkatesh team up to much

of  T-Town's delight. But, Anushka's moved out of this project, we learn. The latest is that Amala Paul

may  be a top contender for the same role.

Tips To Prevent HAIRFALL

Though hair loss is not a life-threatening situation, but it may imply internal health problems. Besides, it may also spoil the level of self-confidence in the long run. As there is no permanent cure for hair loss, but it is possible to take some preventive measures to ensure healthy and shining hair. Some of these tips are listed below:

1) Role of Diet:
A nutritious diet, which contains all essential vitamins and minerals, helps in minimizing the hair loss. Therefore, you must include green, leafy vegetables, raw oats, and whole grain cereals, eggs, dates, and raisins in your daily food regime. As the hair is made of protein, you are advised to stick to protein-rich diet, such as calves liver, brewer's yeast, and wheat germ. These foods also contain Vitamin B, which is an important nutrient for hair. Outer coverings of potatoes, cucumbers, and green and red peppers are high in silica, which is essential to maintain the beauty and strength of your hair. Vitamin E also promotes hair growth and reduces hair fall. A person may experience hair fall due to thyroid dysfunction also. Therefore, you must include foods, which are good sources of vitamin A and iodine.

2) Washing routine:
Your hair cleansing routine largely depends on your hair-type. People having oily hair may need to wash their hair regularly, while people having dry hair can wash it twice a week. Never use too hot or too cold water to wash your hair. While cleaning or massaging your hair, you should always use your fingertips and not your nails to gently clean your scalp.

3) Proper combing:
You should use a wide-tooth comb to untangle your hair and comb in downward direction. Using a wooden or tortoise shell comb is a better idea than using a rubber comb. Avoid combing wet hair, as wet hair can easily break.

4) Drying your hair:
If possible, allow your hair to dry naturally. Avoid using blow dryer as its heat can damage your hair, and also make it look coarse and lifeless.

5) Using proper conditioner:
Protect your hair from sudden environmental changes, while going out to a beach or a pool. You must use an effective conditioner as it protects your hair from the sun, chlorine, and sea water. You should also wear a protective hat or a cap to avoid overexposing your hair to the sun, salt or chlorinated water and pollution.

6) Use of shampoo and conditioner:
Always choose a simple formula shampoo, which costs you less money. Remember, the basic purpose of a shampoo is to wash away the dirt and the oil. Therefore, use a milder shampoo, which is less expensive and more beneficial for your hair. Apply a good quality conditioner once you clean your hair with the shampoo, but do not over-condition your hair.

7) Choose a comfortable hair style:
Choose a hair style that truly reflects your style and taste while significantly enhances your personality. Often traditional hair styling products are rich of alcohol and other harsh chemicals, which may again harm your hair.

8) Knowing your sleeping pattern helps control hair loss:
Comb your hair gently while going to bed. You should also gently remove all bands or clips used during the day. Do you know that your sleeping pattern also affects the life and health of your hair? People who are restless even while they are sleeping may actually end up breaking their hair. So, if you belong to the restless community of sleepers, you should use s satin pillowcase, which allows your hair to move smoothly and thus cause less breakage.

9) Limit the use of alcohol and smoking products:
Reduce alcohol consumption and also avoid using it on your hair. Avoid using hair care products that contain alcohol. This is because alcohol can make your hair look dry, brittle and prone to breakage.

10) Avoid using harsh chemicals:
Certain harsh chemicals such as permanent hair color and perms can also affect the health and growth of your hair. Therefore, you must avoid coloring your hair more than once every 2-4 months.

Tips For Soft Feet &Hands

  • For Beautiful  Feet:
  • Use a foot file each time you shower/bath.
  • At least once a week, make a scrub for both your hands and feet. Here is one good scrub.
  • You may also slough off dead skin cells with a solution made of sea salt lemon. Brush it into hands with an old toothbrush. Do this twice a week to soften hands and remove discoloration.
  • Put lotion on every day.
  • Also get insoles for your shoes.
  • Soften your hands even while you do the dishes. Add a little almond oil (about a teaspoon) to dishwater. The water will soften rough skin while the oil seals the moisture.
  • Take 1 spoon of sugar, lemon juice and fresh cream. Rub it in your hands till the sugar completely dissolves. This really makes the hands soft.

For Beautiful Soft Hands

1/2 cup warm milk, 2 tsp sugar, 2 tsp plain yogurt and a few drops of lavendar essential oil. Soak your hands/fingers in this mix for about 5 minutes. Then do a scrub, nail/cuticle care, massage and polish.

Prepare a Greeting Card

  1. Use appropriate software.
If you are already familiar with the operation of Page Maker, In Design, or other professional desktop publishing software then use it. If new to desktop publishing and your main goal is make your own greeting cards, consumer software such as Art Explosion Greeting Card Factory or Hallmark Card Studio are good software choices to make a greeting card. Familiarize yourself with the basic operation before you begin.
  2. Pick a greeting card format.
Before you begin think about what kind of greeting card you want to make - funny, serious, over sized, top fold, side fold, personalized. Having a vision ahead of time can speed up the process even if you'll be using templates straight from the software.
  3. Set up a greeting card document.
If your software has a blank template or wizard for the style of greeting card you want, use it to set up your greeting card. Or, create a layout from scratch in the desired size. For a top or side fold card printed on letter size paper (rather than other types of specialty greeting card papers) create a folded dummy and mark the front, inside front, message area, and back of the greeting card.
  4. Choose graphics.
If you want to keep it simple, stick with one image or a few simple, icon-like figures. Some clip art is drawn with a less realistic, more cartoon appearance. Some styles suggest "modern" while other clip art has a distinct 50s or 60s air about it. Some images are "fun" while others are "serious" or at least more subdued. Color and types of lines and the amount of detail can all contribute to the overall style. Mix and match images that share a similar style.
  5. Modify the images.
Some graphics work without modification but simple changes to size and color can make a image work better for your greeting card layout. You can also use color and frames or boxes with dissimilar images to create a more unified appearance.
  6. Select a font.
For a greeting card, you will probably stick with one, maybe two typefaces. More would be distracting and less professional-looking in most cases. Usually you want your type and images to convey the same tone or mood whether that's formal, fun, subdued, or in your face. You can change the font color so it that contrasts with your paper color and other graphics or pick a color that appears within your clip art to tie the two together. Plain black is always a good choice too.
  7. Arrange text and graphics.
Even in a simple greeting card, try using a grid to align objects. Draw boxes or horizontal and vertical guidelines to help you align edges. Not every inch of your page, nor every inch of every row or column, has to be filled with clip art or text. Use your grid to help balance out the white space (empty places) on your card.
  8. Create a consistent look.
As you tweak the front and inside of your greeting card, aim for a consistent look and feel. Use the same grid, the same or complimentary graphics and fonts. Print out your front and inside pages and place them side-by-side. Do they look as if they are part of the same card or do they look as if they don't belong together? You want consistency but it's ok to throw in some contrasting elements too.
  9. Add a credit line.
You've just created your masterpiece. Why not take a little bow before hitting the print button? One way to do this is to use the back of the card to credit yourself with the design. If you are making greeting cards for a customer or to sell direct, you may want to include your business name and contact information (such as phone number) -- but do keep it simple (and make sure that the credit is part of your agreement with the client).
  10. Proof and print the greeting card.
When it comes time to print your final greeting card, don't forget that final proof. Before putting your creation on expensive photo paper or greeting card stock print a final proof in draft mode.
    • Check text and graphics and layout.
    • Check margins and alignment.
    • Fold your proof and make sure everything lines up correctly.
    • If printing multiple copies of the final card, first print just one at high quality on the desired paper. Check color and ink coverage.
TIPS:
  1. As complicated as the process looks written out in the steps, above, to make a greeting card is a very basic, simple desktop publishing task. If you look at How to Do Desktop Publishing, you'll see a definite similarity in the steps. Don't let the details get in the way of having fun designing your own original creations. Enjoy the process.
  2. Using a template isn't cheating. Try one of these greeting card templates to jumpstart the design process. You can use them "as is" or as a starting point for your own personalized versions.
  3. The online Create a Greeting Card Class is a structured, step-by-step approach to learning desktop publishing while you make your own greeting card. The links referenced in the 10 steps, above, come from this course.
  4. 9-Week Make a Greeting Card Class provides weekly email reminders to guide you through the online course on week and one lesson at a time.
  5. 9-Day Make a Greeting Card Class is for those who want email reminders but want to complete the course more quickly - a lesson a day for 9 days.

  • Desktop Publishing Software or Greeting Card Software
  • Greeting Card Templates
  • Photo and Clip Art Collections
